All Good Things Are Wild And Free

The kids have recently bought an animal track spotting guide each, so today we decided it would be fun to have an afternoon in the woods discovering animal tracks and signs. After a lazy morning of reading in bed, we made homemade pizza for a warm packed lunch, along with L’s brownies she made the day before & a flask of tea (of course!) & head off to some nearby woods with our dog, Legend.

We found: dog and horse tracks, bird poo (a lot!), rat droppings, various bird feathers which we brought home to identify, wood mice burrows and rabbit warrens, a badger’s set, pine cones gnawed and nibbled by wood mice and squirrels.
